Linear Acoustic® is the leading authority in multichannel loudness control, upmixing, and distribution solutions for digital television. The company designs and manufactures audio processing and metering equipment for TV channels and stations throughout the world. On January 6, 2011, Linear Acoustic received an Emmy® Award for Outstanding Achievement in Engineering/Technical Development from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for pioneering development of a real-time audio/metadata processor to conform audio to the ATSC standard. The Linear Acoustic AERO™ range of audio processing and loudness control solutions solve the problem that initiated the Commercial Loudness Mitigation (CALM) Act, signed into U.S. law by President Obama late last year. Linear Acoustic provided its upmixing products and technical services for NBC’s coverage of the 2008 Beijing Summer Games and provided 24 AERO.qc™ units and technical services for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games.

Tim Carroll, Founder and President of Linear Acoustic, chose Lancaster, PA in 2004 as headquarters for his growing company and began hiring local employees. Linear Acoustic added two new employees this year. In 2010, despite a downturn market in the broadcast industry, the company increased earnings from the previous year. Anticipated earnings growth for this year is an added 25%.
