Novitas Solutions, Inc. (Novitas), formerly known as Highmark Medicare Services (HMS), is a Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Novitas is currently the J12 A/B MAC providing administrative services in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and the metropolitan District of Columbia serving over 160,000 providers/suppliers with approximately 42%, or 67,000, in Pennsylvania. In turn, Medicare providers in this state provide critical healthcare services to approximately 2.3 million Pennsylvania Medicare beneficiaries.

In an effort to improve responsiveness to significant workload variations, advance operational efficiencies, reduce turn-around times and improve the experience for key stakeholders, Novitas, in partnership with our provider of services KORYAK Consulting, Inc. (KORYAK), developed a state of the art enrollment processing and inventory management system, the Application for Provider Enrollment eXcellence (APEX). APEX is a custom-built, game changing workflow management application that re-engineers the way enrollment workload is managed and processed from receipt to finalization that sets us apart from others in the industry.
